Citycell celebrates International Women's Day 2010
Citycell took initiative to celebrate International Women's Day 2010 with its valued female customers. On this auspicious day, a program was held at Spectra Convention Center in the city. In this program, Citycell honored its valued female customers who have spent significantly long tenure with the company.
The program was initiated by the welcome speech of Mr. Mehboob Chowdhury, CEO of Citycell. This was followed by the guest's speech where Citycell female customers - Ms. Mahmuda Haque Choudhury (Former ambassador of Bangladesh) and Ms. Lutfun Nesa shared their experience with the audience. After that Mr. David Lee, Chief Operating Officer of Citycell gave his speech where he expressed gratitude to all guests for attending the program.
As part of the program, invited female guests received complimentary handsets and Citycell connection as an appreciation of their contribution to the company.
Md. Tarikul Hasan, Head of Consumer Business, Dr. Anand Rajasingham, Head of Marketing and other high officials of Citycell were also present at this program.
Citycell's Zoom™ Ultra is now available in Chittagong
Citycell has launched Zoom™ Ultra, in Chittagong the fastest mobile internet in Bangladesh. On the eve of this occasion, Zoom™ Ultra Night was held at Chittagong Club on 4th March, 2010. The event was attended by top corporate executives, government officials, loyal Citycell customers and members of print & electronic media of Chittagong.
Zoom™ Ultra is the new and upgraded package from Zoom™ mobile internet service which enables customers to access high-speed internet by simply connecting it to their laptop or desktop computer. It offers speeds starting from 150 kbps to 512 kbps. The different speed range caters to the different needs of the customers. Citycell is offering Zoom™ Ultra bundle at Tk. 4,500 with Tk. 600 discount on monthly data usage on this occasion.
The audience enjoyed an attractive laser show at the program. Mohammad Fahim, DGM- Consumer Business of Citycell welcomed the guests at the launching program. Citycell CEO Mr. Mehboob Chowdhury gave a speech highlighting the different features of Zoom& Ultra. Prof. Dr. Anupom Sen, Vice Chancellor, Premier University also gave his speech at this program.
Citycell Chief Operating Officer (COO) Mr. David Lee and other high officials also attended the ceremony.
The program was followed by cultural performance and dinner.
A raffle draw was also held as part of the program.

Citycell gets new CEO and COO
Mr. Mehboob Chowdhury has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Citycell, the pioneer mobile phone operator of Bangladesh.
He had held important positions in the telecom industry with 10 years experience in GP and Banglalink. He was previously Director Sales and Marketing of Grameen Phone and later Chief Commercial Officer of Banglalink. He was the Chairman of GSM Asia Pacific and currently is the Chairman of South Asia Mobile Forum. He has an extensive experience in the fields of Sales, Distribution, Marketing, Strategy and Customer Management. “It is my great pleasure to be a part of the country’s pioneer mobile phone operator. As the country’s lone CDMA mobile phone operator, Citycell has already achieved a lot in gaining customers’ satisfaction and is moving towards to offer better products and services. In my new role at Citycell, I look forward to making Citycell as the most preferred telecom operator of Bangladesh,” said Citycell’s new CEO Mehboob Chowdhury.
Also Mr. David Lee has recently joined as Chief Operating Officer of Citycell. Mr. Lee previously worked as Deputy Chief Commercial Officer (COO) at one of the leading mobile phone operator in Pakistan. He has rendered more than 36 years of dedicated service to SingTel mainly in business development and expansion of SingTel’s data businesses reach in the Asia Pacific Region.
AURA GROUP to enjoy Citycell's special voice and internet service
AURA GROUP recently signed a corporate agreement with Citycell to enjoy Citycell’s special voice and internet service. AURA GROUP is the sole distributor of SHARP CORPORATION, OSAKA, JAPAN for their world reputed SHARP brand office equipment (i.e. SHARP Brand Photocopier, Fax Machine, Multimedia Projector, Electronic Cash Register as well as necessary spare parts) in the territory of Bangladesh.
Under the agreement AURA GROUP will enjoy specially designed telecommunication packages and customized solutions from Citycell. The corporate service is tailored to match specific requirements of the company to strengthen communication with all its stakeholders and improve its internal communication.
